Originally from the United Kingdom, Ben started work in Tanzania in 1999 as a village based volunteer for Student's Partnership Worldwide (SPW). He worked for various rural development and governance programmes, including WaterAid. In 2004 Ben moved to Njombe and in 2009, established Daraja Development Limited in Tanzania.
Meab Mdimi
Office Manager
Meab Mdimi recently received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Open University of Tanzania. Before she came to Daraja in January 2010, she worked as a project manager for Mental Health Association of Tanzania (MEHATA), an organization of mental health professionals aiming to improve mental health services in Tanzania through training and sensitizing of health workers. Meab has also worked with Voluntarily Services Overseas (VSO) as a project supervisor in the U.K. and Tanzania.

Accountant
Lonjino Mgalama studied accounting at St. Augustine Univeristy in Mwanza, Tanzania. After receiving his degree he worked with Student Partnership’s Worldwide (SPW) as an accountant, and since October 2009 has maintained Daraja’s financial records.

Maji Matone Programme Officer
Jesca became a part of the Daraja team in December of 2009. She started working as an intern, and in July of 2010 became a full time staff member for the Maji Matone project. Prior to her internship she worked with the Presidential Trust Fund as a credit loan officer. David Taylor

David has been living and working in Tanzanian for the past 3 years. Originally from the U.K., he came to Tanzania and worked for WaterAid for 2 years. David began working with Daraja in 2010 on research and advising of the potential for new technologies and media to influence development.
Kapongola Nganyanyuka
Monitoring and Research Officer
Kapongola heads the monitoring and advocacy programme of Daraja. He has experience with planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects within various sectors of development. He has worked with the Wami-Mbiki project, Strategic Environmental Conservation (SEC), and the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). In 2009 he received his Master's degree in Development Planning and Management, and in January 2010, he began work with Daraja

Twende Pamoja Senior Editor
Robert studied mass communication at Kampala International University in Uganda leading him to work with ThisDay national newspaper, and, most recently, with Femina HIP as an editor for FEMA magazine. Robert comes to the Twende Pamoja programme with ample experience in his field of work and study, as well as contagious enthusiasm for working with local people. Irene Kessy

Margaret joined the Daraja team in August 2010 as an advisor to the Twende Pamoja programme. Originally from Michigan, she came to Tanzania in 2008 as a United States Peace Corps volunteer. After 2 years, she finished the health education project and began work with the Twende Pamoja programme.
